Australia’s best Motocross tracks

So we thought we’d check out some of the best Motocross tracks and parks across the country. All you’ll need to do is pick one to take your DOHC 4-stroke powerhouse. Better yet, throw your bike in the back of the ute, and have yourself a road trip to all of them!

West Moto Park, WA

Located two hours’ drive north-east of Perth, Western Australia you’ll find West Moto Park. This park has something for everyone. With a 10km enduro trail and three dedicated tracks for beginner, intermediate and advanced—it has all the jumps, fast straights and berms for the thrill seeker in you.

Take your own bike—the KTM 350 EXC-F if you’re the lucky winner—otherwise you can hire dirt bikes at the track. If you’re looking for something different, they also have quad bikes for hire too.

If you want to learn how to improve your riding skills, West Moto Park offers coaching sessions throughout the season. Improve your rider technique and advance your personal results.

Camping is also available! Why not make a weekend of it and stay. The park is set on 5 acres of natural bushland with all the modern facilities.  Got roosted? No problem—the camp grounds offer hot showers to clean off! Plus a café right next door.

Louee Enduro and Motocross Complex, NSW

Louee’s is the largest private owned Enduro trail area in New South Wales and can be found in Central NSW on a working sheep and cattle property. Being owned and operated by an avid bike rider, means the complex is built with all the features you’d expect. With 150km of off road riding and racing tracks and trails and five Motocross tracks, this complex appeals to all riders from novice through to expert.

The property is over 10,000 acres in size and has various tracks and trails on offer. The Motocross track is 1500 metres and has natural and man-made obstacles, with four jumps. Thumper Nationals is 1450 metres with accentuated, natural terrain obstacles. The grass track is 1500 metres with flat natural terrain and small jumps. The Enduro Special Test track is designed for special tests and sprint series; and features a permanent water obstacle, hernia hill and is a predominantly single line trail.

Louee’s provides a bike workshop with a range of parts and accessories for sale, as well as a bike washing facility; and an overnight bike lock-up.

There are trackside amenities including toilets and free hot showers, plus a basic first aid officer on duty during ride times; with emergency care flight helipads throughout the complex.

There are a range of accommodation options too; from budget to more luxurious. There is something for everyone here.

Motocross Mountain, QLD

Set on 370 acres of rural property, this park has tracks and climbs to accommodate all levels of dirt bike junkies.

Built to test the rider’s skills, the terrain varies through grassland, open forest and dry rainforest. Motocross Mountain offers two Motocross tracks, a 30km Enduro track, a flat track, hill climb tracks and a beginner’s track.

With lots of hills, gullies and mountainous terrain, you’ll have the chance to put your abilities to the test here.

Accommodation is basic, with bush camping on offer. Although there are plans in place to provide additional facilities, at this time it’s back to basics with toilets and cold shower facilities on hand. There is a canteen that sells cold drinks. If you’re staying overnight, be sure to bring drinking water with you (and all the other essentials) and camp fires are permitted.

Ride Park, VIC

This purpose built dirt bike playground can be found in Parwan, Victoria. Offering unique riding experiences for all levels of riders, the park also has tracks that range from small jumps to more technical terrain.

They have used a special blend of volcanic soil to create world class ruts and jumps—enabling riders the opportunity to take their skills to the next level. Ride Park take a ‘fresh day fresh track approach’ meaning they groom and water their tracks daily.

As always, safety is paramount and Ride Park has a fully equipped medical centre as well as a qualified medical officer on site.

ACUSA Park, SA

This park, located just outside Adelaide in Harrogate, consists of two natural terrain Motocross tracks, an Enduro trail loop and schmick dirt track that was upgraded last year. The park caters to all level riders.

It hosts South Australian State Off Road Championships—so you know you’ve got quality tracks to carve up when you visit.

The park has medical support on standby, along with canteen and toilet facilities and staff on hand to help you have a great day.

Top End MotoX Club, NT

This is where the heart and home of Motocross in the Top End reside.

Offering a Motocross track that is used for competition and championship series, plus a mini MX track, this club is located in Palmerston in the Northern Territory. By becoming a member of the club, you will have access to the tracks (on non-racedays) to carve up the dirt and push yourself to limit; all in a safe and friendly environment.

Coastal Motocross Club, Tas

Found on the North West coast of Tasmania, this track hosted the 2015 Australian Four Day Enduro, so you know it’s up to scratch!

The track is on private lease near a designated trail riding area. The circuit of natural terrain is made up of step ups, drop offs, tabletops, whoops, and is 1530 metres.

Safety first

At all tracks and parks, all riders are required to wear a helmet that meets Australian standards. You also have to wear long pants and top, goggles and closed in shoes/boots at a minimum.
