Samantha’s mum teaches at a high school where she used to attend. Her father sadly passed away when she was only four years old, leaving her mother to raise Samantha and her two siblings on her own. When Samantha rang her mother to tell her the exciting news of her winnings, she was in class teaching. She cried with joy and celebrated with all the children, showing them online the Mater Prize Home which Samantha had won. Everyone in the school, and community, were all very happy for Samantha.
