V8 fan Wins Big

Lesley has had a close connection with Mater since the birth of her little girl, who arrived 5 weeks early and needed specialist care. Her daughter is now a happy and healthy 6 year old. Lesley’s life has also been touched by cancer, with her partner’s brother (only 20 years old), recently diagnosed with testicular cancer. 

For these personal reasons, Lesley decided to support the Mater Cars for Cancer Lottery in an effort to help those who have been in similar situations. 

On Friday 17 May, Lesley was shocked and overjoyed to find out she was the lucky winner of the V8 performance car of her choice! Being a long-time car enthusiast, the choice was an easy one – the HSV Clubsport R8 had a new home!

“I can’t believe real people actually win these prizes”, she kept repeating on the day she met her new V8. She’s not sure whether she’ll keep the car yet but certainly enjoyed her drive back home to Raymond Terrace in NSW.
